EVENING 10s
Tuesdays - 12th May 2026 and throughout the summer
From May onwards weekly evening 10 mile time trials take place. This is a club event open to all club members whatever their ability, whatever their equipment (as long as it's roadworthy) and is a great opportunity for riders to have a go at time trialling. Many riders gain experience in these events before moving on to open events in the CTT calendar. This event contributes points to the Seabird and Stokes Trophies.
Time trialling is a pursuit event. Riders are released at one minute intervals and ride against the clock over a set course. The object is to try and catch and pass (no drafting allowed) as many contenders in front of you as you can and of course not to be passed by those behind you! Final results are based on your time - fastest wins.
The current process is as follows. Pre-register and pay (£4) in advance each week. On the day, arrive at the start point (on the corner of Three Houses Lane) and collect your number. Please arrive in good time, around 7pm, to confirm your start time and allow timekeepers and marshals to get in place. Please do not gather in large groups and respect other road users and surrounding properties. Numbers must be returned at the finish. The £4 fee helps towards the levy from CTT. Both rear and a front lights are mandatory (no lights, no ride)!
The start is at 7:30pm (1st bike off) in Three Houses Lane, which is off the B656 just 0.7 miles North of Codicote. The finish is in Hitchen Lane, a tight left turn off the B656 is required and you must not cross the middle white line or you'll be disqualified! See map:
